Professor Tariq Mehmood, Head of the Radiology Department, CyberKnife and Tomotherapy, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC), was made the Honorary Surgeon Commander of Pakistan Navy on Friday.
Vice Chancellor JSMU and Executive Director JPMC Professor Shahid Rasul has congratulated Professor Tariq Mehmood on this recognition of his services to the country.
Under Professor Tariq Mehmood, patients from 163 cities in Pakistan and 15 countries have received treatment from CyberKnife.
CyberKnife is a premium robotic radiosurgery structure that treats malignant tumors and offers a curative treatment with absolute minimal side effects. It is the first of its kind treatment of cancer which causes minimal tissue destruction as compared to other radiation treatments available in Pakistan.
The largest drugs in the history of Karachi recovered. 304 kg of heroin, 500 kg of chars and 38 kg chemical were recovered. The value is said to be billions of rupees.
