Talha Waheed sets new world record for tennis serves

KARACHI : Pakistani tennis player Talha Waheed has set a new Guinness World Record for the ‘Most Successful Tennis Serves’ in one minute for males.

According to a press release issued by Pakistan Tennis Federation, Talha Waheed, who has a strong background in senior tennis, has won several national titles in the 35+, 40+, and 45+ doubles categories.

He also competed internationally in ITF senior tournaments, achieving a top ranking of 144 in the 40+ doubles category.

Motivated by the previous record of 42 successful serves in one minute, held by John Perry of the USA since 2019, Talha trained intensively for three months. He made his record attempt on November 8, 2024, in Lahore, following all Guinness World Records guidelines.

On March 10, 2025, Guinness World Records confirmed his achievement, making him the official record holder.

Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, President of the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), along with other officials and players, congratulated Talha on his remarkable success.

Qureshi remarked, “Talha’s achievement is unique, and securing a place in the Guinness Book of World Records is no easy task. This will inspire many and boost tennis in Pakistan.”
