KATI expresses concern over instability in domestic politics

 Karachi: Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) President Salman Aslam while expressing concern over instability in Pakistan’s politics said that instability is pushing the country backward economically.  As a result, the country’s overall production capacity and export targets seem to be difficult to meet, while the uncertainty is exacerbating the economic situation.  Salman Aslam said that after the formation of the present government, the artisans and traders were hopeful that the situation would improve, and at the beginning, there were positive signs.

President KATI said that due to political instability and deteriorating law and order situation, the confidence of domestic and foreign investors were being undermined.  He said that the current irresponsible rhetoric was giving a negative impression to Pakistan at the international level.  Salman Aslam said that due to this situation, foreign investors are suffering.  The stock market is also facing uncertainty while the rupee has depreciated against the dollar.  He said that in the present circumstances, all the politicians should show responsibility and give top priority to the country’s integrity and improvement of the economy. 

President KATI appealed to the leaders of all political parties to prioritize patriotism and refrain from irresponsible statements and also urged party leaders and workers not to tarnish the image of Pakistan.
