Yashal Shahid announced as Spotify’s EQUAL Ambassador for August

Commanding a deep, mystical voice, Yashal Shahid is carrying forward the baton for female musicians across Pakistan as Spotify’s EQUAL Ambassador for the month of August 2023. In line with the monthly tradition of EQUAL Pakistan, Yashal shines bright on a digital billboard at Times Square, NYC as her track “Sajna” becomes the featured song on the dedicated EQUAL playlist on Spotify for the month.

“I am in a state of shock and gratitude,” said Yashal while expressing how she felt about being introduced as an EQUAL Pakistan Ambassador. “Spotify is aptly improving the course of our music journey by ensuring recognition and celebration, regardless of the what, who, and where, which will be revolutionary for Pakistani women artists in the coming future”, she added further.

Yashal’s track “Sajna” was originally released in 2019, marking the official debut of her career. “Bharaas”an OST sung by Yashal Shahid for a famous Pakistani drama serial is amongst her biggest hits. At the same time, her tracks, “Tere Bin”, “Mujhe Vida Kar” and “Ranjhna” have also gained widespread acclaim from listeners all over the world.
