ISLAMABAD, Sep 25 : The Adventure Club Pakistan (ACP) in collaboration with the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) has organized 13th Sport Climbing Competitions on World Tourism Day at Ibex Club, Lake View Park here on Wednesday.
All the necessary arrangements have been finalized to hold the sports event aimed to promote adventure and outdoor healthy activities in the country, said a news release.
In previous years, the Adventure Club Pakistan had organized lectures and seminars for the promotion of Climbing besides conducting several training and practice sessions of students.
The Club has searched and developed several new sites for climbing viz-a-viz organizing numerous competitions in collaboration with Ministry of Tourism, PTDC, Capital Development Authority (CDA), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tourism, Foreign Missions and others.
The club has already organized 17 climbing competitions on International Women Day and 12 climbing competitions on International Mountain Day. Also the Club had already produced some of the finest climbers to win national championships as well as to represent the country in international events.
It is pertinent to mention here, the Adventure Club Pakistan was established in 1994 and it has a vibrant history of diversified activities, however, Wall & Rock Climbing is the specialty of the Club.
